Polygon PEX (PE-RT) pipe with oxygen barrier has an external layer of EVOH to keep oxygen and other elements from infiltrating and corrupting the key mechanical components in your heating system such as keeping boiler from rusting.

3. EVOH oxygen-barrier layer: act as an oxygen diffusion barrier
